Vanishing 7 rue  serves as a day of horror thriller in which she stumble in the darkness, the light of the abandoned town in search of a seemingly eternal night. Whatever the views of the evangelical Christian faith, from a strictly horror film needs a better villain.
The logic does not interfere with the trappings of a bloody horror film, but the public wants the rules of the game, this dark, shadows and whispering voices, probably people who disappeared in the distance, the soul has struck indiscriminately to understand.

The only rule seems to be a person who has any kind of light, a flashlight or a lighted match has, of course. Sometimes. The lights dim and yet, if nothing is certain. And really, how many times you can travel and characters lose control of light, without prompting laughter?

The current  leak  in the theater, the public and small may have disappeared, and since the start of the magnet on demand available six weeks earlier.

The film directed by Brad Anderson, proudly announces, that was shot entirely in Detroit, probably because it is an important city in America seem depressed and given up easily by a film team.

After a couple of wide shots of empty streets and crashed into the car after a massive blackout which film bestows quick one, a tavern with the mocking name  Happy Hour  Sonny, where four terrified survivors crowding around the dark miasma.

This is a smooth TV journalist (Hayden Christensen), a physiotherapist (Thandie Newton), distraught over her missing son to save a projectionist (John Leguizamo), him, the lighthouse and a young man saved (Jacob Latimore bar), his mother.

The city's infrastructure has collapsed and the hours are growing rapidly with shorter daylight. Meanwhile, all the characters often cry and scream as if the site was both mentally and physically. While it is gratifying for the survivors continue to the jukebox with its old beautiful collection of Rhythm and Blues run, it takes forever to recognize that by the generator of the tavern, their only source of light can be performed.

Written by: Anthony Jaswinski emphasizes shock and horror on religious themes, although the role of a local church in the economy of some characters and a little discussion about crime and aim to ensure that these issues do not disappear completely in the dark. The film is more designed to annoy the public and the edges of the dark are crawling increase his few characters.

Anderson is a certain style and energy in their direction. But the threat is amorphous, people disappear, leaving only a pile of clothes for your existence on earth, without a real horror. In fact, if the rapture does not eliminate a cause of celebration?

As the film ends with an extremely flat note, it is possible that the filmmakers never even understand what this threat to humanity sign. Although he never goes in the direction of an alien invasion movie  Vanishing  not even M. Night Shyamalan scared. A cloud of darkness conscious can creep streets dark and photogenic, but not exactly a bad guy you love to hate.
